Channel 4 Inspiration Day

Inspiration Week North, part of 4Talent’s Kick Start programme, visited York St John University on Thursday 27 October to introduce media professionals to 100+ of the next media generation from across the UK.

On tour with 4Talent was film maker Rad Miller from Pocket Projects, Nick Hillel of Yeast Culture, journalist and novelist Lucille Howe, presenter Reuben Christian and internet guru Tom Barrett of No Tosh. Channel 4’s new head of Kick Start, and former student of York St John, Glynn Ryland was also at the event.

Aesthetica Film Festival

The Aesthetica Short Film Festival (ASFF) 2011 was the first event of its kind in York. ASFF will screen over 150 films, from more than 35 different countries, bringing new and innovative cinema to York. The full programme will include a series of master classes and workshops which support and champion short filmmaking – complimenting the region’s drive towards innovation in media and the creative arts.

As a lead sponsor, York St John University teamed up with ASFF to provide a range of opportunities for performance and film and TV undergraduates.
