Recycling

Current University initiatives

Recycling tag

The University recycles all used ink and toner cartridges. These are picked up by a registered ISO4001 company http://www.inkagain.co.uk/ who won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in 2004.

All waste paper is either recycled using the internal process or is made up into free scrap pads for staff & students.

Where possible, old stationery items which are reusable (such as box files for example) are redistributed to staff.

Around 15% of the stationery products that we stock are deemed as ‘green’ products which means they are made from recycled materials, the materials used in them are less harmful to the environment or they are a fair trade product.

Most packaging (such as cardboard boxes) are either recycled or reused when possible.

We actively encourage the electronic submission of work, to reduce the amount of wastage through hard copy and unnecessary printing.

The paper the University currently sources is from an ecological responsible company and the paper comes from a well managed sustainable forest.
