The Library
Our Library currently stocks around 175,000
books and we have access to over 3,000 periodicals most of which
are available electronically. There are also collections of
audiovisual material such as DVDs and videos and access to a wide
range of electronic information sources, including electronic
books.
You can expect that all the listed learning requirements will be
resourced, usually with multiple copies of books available.
Other services include an interlibrary loan service for
specialist items we don’t hold, links to other local libraries and
access to numerous bibliographical and reference databases. An
enquiry service is available and library staff provide guidance and
support on all matters relating to finding and using information
including exploiting the Internet and citing resources. We are
members of the reciprocal SCONUL Access scheme which
allows students access and, in some cases borrowing privileges, at
other Higher Education libraries.
The British Library Document Supply with its
vast collections is nearby at Boston Spa and can be accessed
through its public reading room. We also have specialist
collections and facilities in our RE
Centre.
